Six Notorious Armed Robbers Hanged in Tehran: Press

TEHRAN Six armed bandits, found guilty on charges of repeated offenses, including armed robbery which constituted threatening national security according to a court ruling, were hanged in three districts of this capital city Thursday, evening press said.

The culprits, members of a gang called Jamileh, were involved in creating terror among people and stealing money and gold from banks and jewelry shops in Tehran and other big cities, the Persian daily **Kayhan** said.

They had confessed to stealing 65kilos of gold jewelry and Rls.10 billion U.S.$1.25 million) worth of diamond as well as some amount of cash, the paper said.
